Description

This is a new image that I've had in my library for a while, but I've only just recently noticed that I never uploaded it here. So it's now finally here for everyone to enjoy.

This started out as a joke based on an observation that Raven's hood has a significant pointed area at the top, which makes it similar to those of the protagonists in Assassin's Creed. But over time, I realized it was more about how much I missed the original animated incarnation of Teen Titans, and decided to draw an image featuring what I considered to be the most influential antagonists of the group. But now that I think about it, I noticed that I may have been better off drawing Brother Blood on the left and placing Trigon in the middle, especially since he is certainly the most powerful foe that the group faced.

Regardless, the primary reason that this drawing exists is to reflect on the fact that it would have been fine to leave the series alone as is, since Teen Titans Go! has made a mockery of this series. You may see a lot of stuff going around about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but before that, one could argue that shows like this, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League were the original ideas that showed us why superheroes were such a big deal. Shows like Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice were clearly an attempt at continuing this legacy. But sadly, they were given the boot, yet Teen Titans Go! still airs to this day. But it gets worse. Teen Titans Go! has mocked the fans of the original DC animated shows multiple times, even featuring the cast of Young Justice as guest characters, with the false Titans making a big joke out of them by trying to look like Handsome Squidward.

With a decision like this, I've just about given up on DC animation. A lot of people may bash Ultimate Spider-Man for not taking itself seriously (and one needs to ask if you truly are a fan of Spider-Man, otherwise you'd know he's frequently being a smart-ass), but as far as I'm concerned, it's not nearly as big of an offense as Teen Titans Go!. So I'll gladly take it along with Avengers Assemble. I'm only hoping that "Fourth Wall" episode that features Control Freak is teasing a true reboot of the Titans, like Control Freak himself suggests. He literally brings up every criticism that the show deserves to have, and even shows footage from the original series in that episode.

Let me know what you guys think!
